  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for Ford Expedition and 5600-lb Dry Weight Trailer
  • The main differences between the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System # FA94-00-1061 and the similarly-rated Equal-i-zer system # EQ37101ET are that the Fastway has 2-point sway control whereas the Equal-i-zer uses 4-point sway control, and that the Fastway e2 includes a shank and hitch ball. These must be added to the Equal-i-zer system. The key to selecting a weight distribution (WD) and sway control (SC) system for your trailer is to know it's fully-loaded, road-ready tongue weight...

  • Comparing Backup Cameras # RVS-155W and Furrion # FRC12TAPK-BL
  • Both the Furrion part # FRC12TAPK-BL and the RVS part # RVS-155W are fantastic options for back up cameras. Either are going to work well but there are a few differences. The monitor of the RVS is a bit bigger and is designed to mount to something below it permanently. The screen is 5 inches in size. The Furrion has a monitor size of 4.3 inches but is designed to mount to a windshield for more of a temporary mount. I'd go with whichever has the mounting/monitor style that you would find...

  • Swagman Platform Style 2-Bike Rack for Use on Class C RV
  • The Swagman Chinook 2-Bike Platform Rack # S64683 is not rated for use on the rear of a trailer or other RV. They are great products but are designed for use only on standard passenger vehicles. Bike racks made for use on an RV are built with the extra strength required to handle the stresses found at the rear of such vehicles. Because the distance between the rear axle and the actual bike rack load is greater on an RV than on a passenger car, there will be more lateral and vertical forces...

  • Best RV Bike Rack With 100 Lb. Weight Limitation
  • The Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk part # CC-275 will need to have one of three specific points on the a-frame free in order for it to work. The measurements will need to be taken from the outside edge on each frame rail. As long as you have space at the 12" wide apart, 32" wide apart, or the 52" wide apart positions on the a-frame the bike bunk will work well for you. I have attached a photo to better illustrate the above measurements. I would be more than happy to provide a comparison...

  • Best Bike Rack to Use with a Class C Motorhome and a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe
  • The Thule Doubletrack, part # TH92BJ is not rated for RV use. Most racks that are folding, tilting or are rated for a Class 1 hitch aren't sturdy enough to take the increased forces that occur on the back of an RV. Instead, I recommend the Swagman E-Spec part # S94FR or Dispatch, part # S44FR. Both are platform racks rated for use with an RV and have a few differences that may matter to you depending on the type of bikes you have. The E-Spec is a newer rack with a 60-lb per bike capacity,...

  • Comparing Curt Bumper Mount Trailer Hitch E-100 and Frame Mount 13703
  • Both the frame mount hitch # 13703 and the bumper mount # E-100 have 2 inch receivers. Both are rated for 350 pounds tongue weight and 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight. The bumper mount E-100 is more limited as to what it will fit on. First, the bumper has to be rated for use with a hitch. It must be a 4 inch square continuous welded steel bumper. A bumper mount hitch in general is not as stable as a frame mount. The frame mount 13703 can be bolted or welded on. It fits box frames, I-beam...

  • Comparing Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE and RV Rider Bike Rack
  • The # HLY84FR and # HLY64FR share many similarities but there are 2 key differences aside from the price. The first is the way the bikes are secured. Although both are frame mount bike racks, the Sport Rider uses your standard ratcheting hooks while the RV Rider has padded clamps. Both work well, but the clamps are handy for bikes with alternative frames since they can attach to the frame or seat post. The other major difference is the compatibility. Both work with a motorhome, but the...
